The First Interview we Present today is With Mr.Srijan Virmani,Student 11-13 batch who got selected with Naukri.com.



Q1.Srijan, could you please share with us your academic background and Your specialization in PGDM? What prompted you chose your Specialization?

I have done my graduation in Btech CSE Post graduation in Marketing as major and IT & Operations as minor.
I did so as I wanted to get into Sales & marketing of IT products & wanted to pursue my passion i.e Automobile which was not possible without it.

Q2. Share with us your hobbies, strengths and weaknesses.
Hobbies are playing table tennis, dancing, song writing, and gathering information about automobiles.
Strengths:- communication skills, determination, hard working, goal oriented
Weakness:- emotional, short tempered

Q3.Given that most students in the current batch are freshers without any industry experience to speak of, how you would advise one to go about so that he knows his strengths and weaknesses?

When it comes to strength and weakness u will realize it only if u do work assigned to u sincerely if u will do so u will realize what u are good at & areas where u can improve. Secondly give as many presentations in the class as it will help u in improving your soft skills and will bring confidence in u. Participate in as many events u can. Accept the criticism if u are strong enough to face it u can do wonders.
Q4.We designed a knowledge cell form so that we could assess as to which skills the current batch lacked in. It had details like Analytical skills, Presentation skills, Communication skills which wereto be answered choosing from options like poor average and good.

See these things are intrapersonal I can’t generalize it and comment upon it.
Q5.How important is these skills for placement? What other skills in Your opinion does a student require?

These skills are utmost important u need to work upon them as these attributes gives very first impression to the interviewer. Be up to date read newspapers on daily basis watch news, be confident, have positive attitude, work upon your body language.
Q6.A large number of our students is interested in talking Financial Analyst profile and some want a taxation profile? Most of these are Commerce students? How should you define their approach to be best?

Sorry this is not my cup of tea I think Bashisht Sharma & Rajat Khullar can guide u on this. I don’t want to misguide u.

Q7.Do you think Students from Btech or Non commerce background are in disadvantage Vis a Vis ones with commerce background? How in your Opinion should these students counter that disadvantage, if any?

There's nothing like this buddy I have seen in my batch itself students from non commerce background performed outstanding in subjects like accounts and so on. So don’t even think that. Just keep on practicing whatever is been taught to u on daily basis. Rest Khan Sir will help u if u will face any problem for sure.

Q8.You must be aware of the activities we are going to undertake in the knowledge cell? What other activities should we undertake?
In your assessment of the knowledge cell how would you rate the idea On a scale of 10?
Am not much aware of it. But still I would like you guys to have a debate session, GD's, Mock Interviews, News Quiz, Industrial Quiz, Newspaper discussions on regular basis it will help u allot.

I would give the Idea of knowledge cell 10 on 10
Q9.There is always a lot of Buzz about SIP and most students are in a State of doubt as to which companies one must look forward to? What was your approach? Please advise us.

See SIP is something which tells u or I should say teaches u how organizations work it’s like a preview of the corporate culture. So yes it is very important do your SIP from the industry u are interested in keep at least two industries in your mind don’t bee too choosy in selecting the company. Secondly if u r getting a brand good enough but make sure they make u do allot of work otherwise your learning would be zero don’t run after stipend if the company is giving good enough but don’t make a decision based on it as most of us do.

Q10.Would you be Able to undertake some workshops under the aegis of Knowledge cell? What is your message for Students of 2012-14 batch and for knowledge cell?
Yes I would love to,Just want to say do hard work and side by side learn how to do smart work. Just remember whatever u are doing do it with your full dedication nothing can stop u. Learn from your mistakes don't get shattered if you lose something. God bless u all.
